This film might be of interest -- it's based on ex-CIA agent Robert Baer's memoir See No Evil: The True Story of a Foot Soldier in the CIA's Counter Terrorism War and details intelligence gathering, the US-Saudi relationship, and the real price of oil. It was written and directed by Stephen Gaghan (Traffic).
This partial quote appears on the title page of the script:
All you have to do is to tell them that they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.
Hermann Goering*
The script itself is extremely intense and leaves little to the imagination about the relationship between the CIA and the White House. The current administration is not going to like this little Hollywood tidbit at all.
This is a big budget project and a major release set for Sept. ... unless it gets buried.

*The entire Goering quote is even more interesting:
"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them that they are being attacked & denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."
