Here's an important article by William Rivers Pitt (2/25/03), summarizing the policy goals of PNAC. It also explains how Bush's hijacking of the White House in 2000 made PNAC's imperialist vision into American foreign policy. PNAC board members and signatories who got prominent jobs in the Bush administration include Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, and Eliot Abrams. Brother Jeb -- obviously crucial to the theft of Florida's electoral votes -- is a key PNAC player. The group was co-founded by right-wing penman William Kristol, of Rupert Murdoch's Weekly Standard. Pitt also points out that Bush's "National Security Strategy of the United States of America" (introduced 9/20/01) is "an ideological match to PNAC's 'Rebuilding America's Defenses,'" often using "exactly the same language." Here is a longer and more thorough analysis of PNAC's design for world domination, written by Bette Stockbauer, antiwar.com, 6/18/03.Also see "The Project for a New American Empire: Who are these guys? And why do they think they can rule the world?," Duane Shank, Sojourners, September-October 2003.The Four Reasons offers this useful guide to key PNAC players, including their backgrounds in the public and private sectors, and their dubious achievements.
